◆ Management of Lenticule Extraction Complications
Dr. David Kang was the only Korean doctor to participate as an instructor in this instructional course.
He presented successful cases of treating irregular corneas with CustomEyes following previous laser vision correction procedures such as SMILE and LASIK.
In particular, he addressed cases involving patients who underwent LASIK surgery in the early 2000s and are now reaching the age for cataract surgery.
Due to the technological limitations of older laser devices, many of these patients present with decentered ablations or small optical zones, leading to irregular corneas.
Dr. Kang shared his approach of first treating these irregularities with CustomEyes, followed by cataract surgery using multifocal intraocular lenses.
In addition, Dr. Kang delivered lectures on Plasma SMILE,
a next-generation refractive technique presented at the 2024 ESCRS.
We sincerely thank all our patients for their continued support of EYEREUM EYE CLINIC and Dr. Kang’s research.
